DFLEC ALERT: Defend Community Solar ~ Energy Omnibus Hearing Thursday at 10:30am!
Dear DFLEC Activist,
The following is from Rise and Repair:
The Senate Energy Omnibus (SF 2393) has been scheduled for a hearing tomorrow at 10:30am in the Senate Finance Committee. This has been one of the several omnibus bills we have been tracking ~ it has improved greatly in the currently posted "delete everything" amendment, but still would terminate community solar!
Location: Senate Building, Room 1200 (Join us and show up if you can!)
Time: 10:30am
Committee Agenda IS HERE
The Good:
Provisions modifying the eligible energy technologies to include new large-scale hydro/mega dams have been removed.
Changes to MN's "Net-Metering" have been dropped.
Addition of "Woody Biomass" to carbon-free definition has been removed.
The Renewable Development Account will not be shut down.
The Bad:
The bill still includes language that would shut down Minnesota's Community Solar Program by 2030.
We need a strong push to raise the profile of this before (and also after) tomorrow's hearing!
The "Our Sun. Our Power" Coalition's action alert is a perfect venue to bring this front and center. Take Action by clicking the image above, the button below, or by going to the RiseAndRepair.org/communitysolar!
We are also encouraging turnout for tomorrow's hearing ~ if they see us there, they'll know we're present to DEFEND COMMUNITY SOLAR!
If you know anyone who is currently enrolled in a community solar garden, or cares about energy democracy in our state... Please forward this email to someone you think could take action!
With gratitude for your continued support & involvement with this movement!
